‘The Last Showgirl’ Trailer: Pamela Anderson Is Ready For Her Close-Up In Gia Coppola’s Las Vegas Drama

Is this the year that Demi Moore and Pamela Anderson’s comebacks get them in the Best Actress race? That has been some of the early buzz this season, but let’s be honest that the odds are pretty long for Moore and her performance in The Substance, and for Anderson who has wowed audiences in The Last Showgirl.

Roadside Attractions are getting the word out about The Last Showgirl, and they’ve dropped a new trailer to help push for Anderson’s performance. Directed by Gia Coppola in her first film since Mainstream in 2020, the film features the Baywatch beauty as an aging Las Vegas showgirl faced with an uncertain future.

The cast surrounding Anderson is terrific with Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka, Jason Schwartzman, and Billie Lourd. But the talk has been about Anderson who delivers in a way that nobody has ever asked of her before. When Cortland reviewed the film last month she had nothing but praise, calling it a “full circle moment” for Anderson.

The Last Showgirl gets an awards-qualifying release in LA on December 14th before going wide theatrically on January 10th 2025.

SYNOPSIS: The Last Showgirl, a poignant film of resilience, rhinestones and feathers, stars Pamela Anderson as Shelley, a glamorous showgirl who must plan for her future when her show abruptly closes after a 30-year run.
