‘Carry-On’ Trailer: Taron Egerton Is Saving Christmas From Jason Bateman In Netflix’s Holiday Actioner

Is Die Hard an action movie or a Christmas movie? That question has raged on for years and will for many more years to come. But will they ask that same question about Carry-On, the upcoming holiday actioner that is kinda like Die Hard in an airport if you replaced Bruce Willis with Taron Egerton and put him in an ill-fitting uniform.

Egerton, best known for kicking butt in the Kingsman movies, is the gift that keeps on giving in Carry-On, which finds him as a low-level TSA who gets blackmailed by a domestic terrorist into slipping a mysterious package through security during the busy Christmas Eve shift. The villain is voiced by Jason Bateman who is mostly heard through an earpiece like he’s the bad guy from Phone Booth.

The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, known for directing Orphan, Black Adam, and Jungle Cruise. He’s also directed Liam Neeson four times (!!!) in movies increasingly forgettable. Come to think of it, Carry-On kinda looks like a movie that was written for Neeson and he turned it down.

That said, the cast is phenomenal and suggests everyone needed some extra cash for Christmas. Sofia Carson, Logan Marshall-Green, Danielle Deadwyler, Theo Rossi, Dean Norris, and Sinqua Walls co-star.

Carry-On hits Netflix on December 13th.
