‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Trailer: Tom Hardy Suits Up As Marvel’s Favorite Symbiote Antihero One More Time

Is Venom: The Last Dance really the last dance for Sony’s favorite symbiote? The third film in Tom Hardy’s Marvel franchise arrives after the underwhelming Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and 2018’s wildly successful Venom, the two combining for over $1.3B globally. That’s a lot of money to put on the shelf, especially when a potential crossover with Spider-Man has yet to happen.

Hardy returns for the third time as Eddie Brock, troubled reporter who has bonded with a hungry alien symbiote to form the lethal antihero. Hardy is credited as a co-writer on the film for the first time, although he has been deeply involved with the story since the beginning. He’s working alongside co-writer Kelly Marcel who is making her feature directorial debut. Marcel also wrote the prior films, which all had different directors.

Joining Hardy in the cast are Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, and Alanna Ubach, with Stephen Graham returning as detective Patrick Mulligan aka the villain Toxin, and Peggy Lu as shop owner Mrs. Chen. It’s interesting that Ejiofor and Ifans have previous Marvel experience but are playing completely different characters.

SYNOPSIS: In “Venom: The Last Dance,” Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo is forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.

So is this the end? Or could we see Venom show up in Avengers: Secret Wars, maybe? Venom: The Last Dance opens October 25th.
