‘Detained’ Trailer: Laz Alonso Interrogates Abbie Cornish In Psychological Thriller Arriving In August

Quiver Distribution has dropped a new trailer for the promising psychological thriller, Detained. Why promising? Because the tightly-wound film stars Abbie Cornish (Bright Star), Laz Alonso (The Boys), and Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation) in what looks like a claustrophobic nail-biter.

Directed and co-written by Felipe Mucci (Two Deaths of Henry Baker), the film finds Cornish as a woman who wakes up in a police precinct with no memory of the night before. As accusations against her mount, she must uncover the truth. However, nothing is as it appears to be.

Also in the cast are John Patrick Amedori (Dear White People), Justin H. Min (After Yang), and Breeda Wool (Mr. Mercedes). Again, this film has solid potential due to the cast of pop culture favorites. Cornish is probably best known for her roles in Sucker Punch, Three Billboards, and Robocop. Alonso is obviously recognized as Mother’s Milk in The Boys, which is having its fourth season on Prime Video right now. Bloodgood also starred in the popular series Falling Skies, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (best to forget that one), and Faster. Min stars in Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, which is about to enter its fourth and final season.

SYNOPSIS: In the dead of night, Rebecca wakes in a decrepit precinct, accused of a hit-and-run. But a deadly scuffle reveals a sinister plot. With nowhere to turn, she must uncover the truth before it consumes her. But Rebecca harbors secrets darker than they know.

Detained opens in theaters and VOD on August 2nd.
