‘Wake Up Dead Man’: Andrew Scott The Latest To Join Next ‘Knives Out’ Mystery

With production on Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery expected to begin next month, we knew there would be a flurry of casting news. The latest to join the all-star ensemble is Andrew Scott, joining a cast that includes Josh O’Connor, Cailee Spaeny, and the returning Daniel Craig. Variety exclusively reported the news.

Plot details will stay a mystery, and that’s a good thing. Craig reprises the character of Benoit Blanc for his “most dangerous case yet”, meaning his southern-fried accent will also return. Johnson will direct and write the screenplay. He’ll also produce with his production partner Ram Bergman.

Scott has been busy, and earning loads of praise in the process. He most recently starred in the hit Netflix series, Ripley, which could make him a contender this Emmy season, and the critically acclaimed drama All Of Us Strangers. He burst onto the scene for his award-winning role as Moriarty in Sherlock, and as the “Hot Priest” in Fleabag opposite Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Johnson’s two previous Knives Out films have combined for over $360M worldwide, although the 2022 sequel Glass Onion was released by Netflix and had a limited theatrical run. The streamer spent $450M to acquire the franchise.
