At 84 years of age, Chuck Norris could still kick my ass. Probably yours, too. One of the greatest action stars and martial artists ever, he continues to do his thing in the occasional movie, with his most recent being The Expendables 2 back in 2012. But now he’s back with Agent Recon, a new sci-fi/action flick from writer, director, and star Derek Ting.
Also starring another ’80s action star, Marc Singer (of Beastmaster and V fame), Agent Recon follows a military task force battling a mysterious alien being with the ability to control hordes of mindless warriors.
So it’s a little bit War of the Worlds, a little bit Predator, and a lot of Chuck Norris. I always think it’s a good idea to see these classic action stars in their element while we still have the opportunity because they won’t be around forever.
Here’s the synopsis: A covert military task force tracks a mysterious energy disturbance at a secret base in New Mexico that is suspected of experimenting on alien technology. Once there, the team encounters an unknown being of extraordinary strength and speed, and the ability to control an army of mindless warriors. The trio must fight through the unstoppable hordes to prevent humanity’s demise.
Agent Recon opens in digital and VOD on June 21st.
