‘The Watchers’ Trailer: Dakota Fanning In Creepy New Horror From Ishana Night Shyamalan

The apple doesn’t fall far from the Shyamalan tree, at least when we look at the new trailer for The Watchers. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan, the daughter of M. Night Shyamalan. While he is aboard as a producer on his daughter’s film, this one is all her as she takes audiences into a gothic tale of horror and mystery.

Dakota Fanning leads the cast as a young artist who finds herself trapped in an expansive forest in western Ireland with a handful of strangers. Together they are stalked and watched each night by creatures they cannot see.

Also in the cast are Georgina Campbell, Oliver Finnegan, and Olwen Fouere. Ishana also wrote the screenplay, just as her father typically does.

SYNOPSIS: From producer M. Night Shyamalan comes “The Watchers,” written for the screen and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan and based on the novel by A.M. Shine. The film follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night. You can’t see them, but they see everything.

The Watchers hits theaters on June 14th.
