‘Parachute’ Trailer: Brittany Snow’s Directorial Debut Is A Romance Starring Courtney Eaton, Thomas Mann, And A Lot Of Fun Guest Stars

I think Brittany Snow has been around longer than people realize. While her popularity skyrocketed thanks to her role in Hairspray and the Pitch Perfect movies, we old fogeys remember her from Guiding Light and the NBC drama series American Dreams. Snow is now taking her career to the next level with her feature directorial debut, the romance drama Parachute.

The film stars Yellowjackets actress Courtney Eaton as a young woman fresh out of rehab for an eating disorder when she meets what could be the perfect guy. Eaton stars alongside Thomas Mann as the romantic duo at the heart of this story, but it should come as no surprise that Snow also rang up some old friends to fill out the cast.

Snow recruited her Bushwick (underrated as Hell) co-star Dave Bautista for a small role, along with fellow Pitch Perfect actress Chrissie Fit, Scott Mescudi who she worked with on X, and Gina Rodriguez who she starred with in Someone Great. Also in the cast are Francesca Reale, Joel McHale, Jennifer Westfeldt, and more.

Along with directing Parachute, Snow co-wrote the screenplay with Becca Gleason and produced, too.

Here’s the synopsis: In Parachute, Riley is a fun and energetic young woman, but struggles with an eating disorder and body image issues. Ethan is a once-promising musician in the end of his 20s. The two meet and just “click.” To Ethan, all of Riley’s flaws are beautiful, and he wants to help her see herself the way he does. Riley adores Ethan and is inspired by his talent and selflessness. Their relationship is a balancing act between their love for each other and their combustible personal issues. But they truly feel like soulmates and the world makes sense only when they take it on together.

Parachute opens in theaters on April 5th.
