At only 16 years old, Ariana Greenblatt has already established herself in multiple franchises that will make her part of pop culture lore forever. She’s played Young Ahsoka Tano in Ahsoka, young Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War, voiced young Velma in Scoob!, and who can forget her role as Sasha in last year’s highest-grossing movie, Barbie? Greenblatt will be adding to that by playing Tiny Tina in the upcoming Borderlands movie based on the hit video game. And after that? Well, she’ll be able to add doing a horror movie with Eli Roth to her impressive list of credits.
Speaking with EW following the release of the Borderlands trailer last week, Roth revealed that he and Greenblatt are currently writing a horror movie together, one that he’ll direct and she’ll lead.
Roth said Greenblatt “loves horror, and we have a great idea, so we’re writing a movie together. That is an exclusive, nobody knows that. I don’t want to say anything about it yet, but she’s so smart I’m like, ‘Let’s write a movie together, and we’ll produce it together, and I’ll direct it, and you’ll star in it.’”
As for details? Well, he wasn’t giving any of that away just yet. But knowing Roth, this could be a movie that gets moving and done pretty quickly. He might need it to because Greenblatt is very highly in-demand and her schedule won’t be free for long.
We’ll be seeing Greenblatt next when Borderlands hits theaters on August 9th.
