Jordan Peele movies are a pretty big deal. It’s only taken three films behind the camera, Get Out, Us,and last year’s Nope to establish him as a filmmaker whose projects are appointment viewing. But there’s something special about this next one, because for the first time Peele is getting a release timed to the holidays.
Universal has set Peele’s untitled next film for Christmas Day 2024. This is the first time Peele has had a holiday-timed release, which leads to speculation that maybe he’s doing some kind of Christmas horror movie? His previous films opened either in the first-quarter of the year or in the case of Nope as a mid-summer blockbuster.
Of course, there was no info revealed about the movie, and we aren’t likely to get anything for a while. When details on Nope started to emerge they came suddenly and quickly, but fairly close to the movie’s release. Expect the same thing to happen here. [Variety]
