Look, you’ve got me at “Adèle Exarchopoulos”. The 29-year-old actress is still probably best known for her breakout role in Blue is the Warmest Colour. She’s not only one of the most breathtaking actresses in the world, but also one of the best for taking on roles that always prove challenging. And that trend looks to continue with the trailer for The Five Devils, from Ava director Léa Mysius.
Getting its title from the five senses of the human body, the film centers on a young girl wih the extraordinary ability to identify and reproduce any smell. Exarchopoulos plays the girl’s mother, whose smell is also reproduced. The girl’s life is thrown upside down with the arrival of a family member just returned from prison, and her smell triggers new, dark sensations.
Exarchopoulos is joined in the cast by Sally Dramé, Swala Emati, Moustapha Mbengue, and Daphné Patakia. Mysius also co-wrote the screenplay with Paul Guilhaume.
The Five Devils opens in theaters on March 24th, before heading to MUBI, which has become a one-stop-shop for Exarchopoulos projects lately, on May 12th.
