‘Somebody I Used To Know’ Trailer: Dave Franco And Alison Brie Team For A Romance Of Rediscovery

Dave Franco and Alison Brie just can’t get enough of one another. Makes sense; they are husband and wife, after all. They team up cinematically for the fourth time with Somebody I Used to Know, which Franco directs from a script he co-wrote with Brie, who also stars.

The past always comes back, not necessarily to haunt, but to remind us of who we used to be and can be again. In Somebody I Used to Know, Brie plays workaholic Ally who, after suffering a career setback, goes scurrying back home to take stock of her life. It’s there that she rekindles a relationship with her first love, played by Top Gun: Maverick‘s Jay Ellis, only to learn he’s about to be married to a creative young woman who Ally sees a lot of herself in.

The cast includes Kiersey Clemons, who is great in literally everything, plus Danny Pudi, Julie Hagerty, Haley Joel Osment, and Sam Richardson. Franco most recently directed Brie in his horror film The Rental in 2020.

Somebody I Used to Know hits Prime Video on February 10th.
