‘Seriously Red’ Trailer: Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, And Krew Boylan Star In A Dolly Parton Impersonator Comedy

Is there anyone out there who doesn’t love Dolly Parton? Whether a country music fan or not, Parton has won millions of fans with her heartfelt vocals expressing universal themes, while she is personally one of the most philanthropic superstars around. It’s no wonder people keep making movies inspired by her. The latest, Seriously Red, features Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, and star Krew Boylan.

Directed by Gracie Otto and written by Boylan, the film is a story of self-discovery, centering on a woman and her dream of being the greatest Dolly Parton impersonator. Byrne not only has an acting role, but she’s aboard as a producer so this is a film she feels really strongly about.

The film debuted last year at SXSW where it received positive reviews. I feel like this would make a pretty good double feature alongside Dumplin‘.

Seriously Red opens in theaters and PVOD on February 10th.

Red (Krew Boylan) lost her job as a real estate agent, but there’s something no one can take away from her: her dream of becoming the world’s greatest Dolly Parton impersonator! After her act attracts the attention of an amorous Elvis impersonator (Rose Byrne) and a powerful booking agent (Bobby Cannavale), Red is catapulted into the top tier of copycat acts, becoming the onstage and romantic partner of the top Kenny Rogers impersonator. But when Red’s life as an imitator starts to feel false, she discovers true happiness comes when you’re being the best version of yourself.
