‘A Good Person’ Trailer: Florence Pugh And Morgan Freeman Star In Zach Braff’s Drama About Grief And Forgiveness

Can you believe it was way back in 2004 when Zach Braff captured a cultural moment with his directorial debut, Garden State? His follow-up, 2014’s Wish I Was Here mimicked the same style that became the indie flavor of the moment, but the time had passed. Then 2017’s crime comedy Going in Style just kinda kept on going without much notice. But Braff is back now and directing Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman in A Good Person, a drama about grief, forgiveness, and recovery.

Here’s the synopsis: Daniel (Morgan Freeman) is brought together with Allison (Florence Pugh), the once thriving young woman with a bright future who was involved in an unimaginable tragedy that took his daughter’s life. As grief-stricken Daniel navigates raising his teenage granddaughter and Allison seeks redemption, they discover that friendship, forgiveness, and hope can flourish in unlikely places.

Braff also wrote the screenplay and produces alongside Pugh. Molly Shannon, Chinaza Uche, Zoe Lister-Jones, and Celeste O’Connor co-star.

A Good Person opens in select theaters on March 24th 2023, with a wider rollout a week later.
