Pinning down where Mike Myers will show up has been a bit of a crap shoot for a long time (Terminal, Bohemian Rhapsody were his last “major” roles), but that’s about to change. Myers is bringing his comedic talent to Netflix, playing 8 out of 15 characters in The Pentaverate, a 6-episode secret society series that is being teased today.
The series asks the question, “What if a secret society of five men has been working to influence world events for the greater good since the Black Plague of 1347?”
One of the roles Myers plays is Ken Scarborough, an unliikely Canadian journalist determined to expose The Pentaverate and possibly save the world. Here’s a complete list of the characters Myers will take on:
♦ Anthony Lansdowne, a New England conspiracy theorist determined to expose the Pentaverate
♦ Rex Smith, a far-right radio host and prominent conspiracy theorist
♦ Lord Lordington, the Pentaverate’s oldest, highest-ranking member
♦ Bruce Baldwin, a former media mogul
♦ Mishu Ivanov, an ex-Russian oligarch (Russian ex-oligarch?)
♦ Shep Gordon, a former Rock-N-Roll manager.
♦ and Jason Eccleston, the tech genius who invented the Pentaverate’s supercomputer, MENTOR.
Others in the cast include Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, Debi Mazar, Richard McCabe, Jennifer Saunders, and Lydia West. Myers also serves as exec-producer, alongside director Tim Kirby.
The Pentaverate hits Netflix on May 5th. For more info, check out the official site here.
