Seventeen years after Shrek Forever After was meant to be the end of Dreamworks’ hit animated franchise, Shrek 5 will return everyone’s favorite ogre, Fiona, and Donkey back to the big screen. Universal has dropped a new teaser for the film, which finds the trio dealing with adult kids, law enforcement, a shady snowman, and a “caked up” Gingerbread Man.
Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy are back, joined by the newly-married Zendaya, SNL‘s Marcello Hernandez, and Superman actor Skyler Gisondo as the voices of Shrek and Fiona’s kids, Felicia, Fergus and Farkle.
Franchise veteran Walt Dohrm will co-direct with Conrad Vernon and Brad Ableson. Dohrm is also the director of the popular Trolls movies, so he’s been a major force at Dreamworks Animation.
Universal Pictures will release Shrek 5 in theaters on June 30th 2027.
