‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ Is Moving…Up A Couple Of Weeks!

In the midst of gloomy predictions of further movie delays, a ray of sunshine. Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which itself had been rumored to move into 2022, will actually open a couple of weeks earlier. Huh?

That’s right. Sony has moved the Venom sequel up from the October 15th slot it took up residence in just a couple of weeks ago, and set it for October 1st. So what’s the deal here? Has the Delta variant suddenly gone away and audiences eager to return to theaters? Well, definitely not the former. But as Deadline notes, the latter was proven somewhat by the strong record-breaking performance of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings at the box office. It’s clear that people will buy tickets for blockbuster superhero movies when given the chance.

I think this move should also be taken as a good sign that Marvel’s Eternals will stay in its November slot.  After all, the fans have spoken with their dollars and they want their superhero movies on the big screen, please and thank you.
