‘Star Wars: The High Republic’ Trailer Launches A New Era Of Jedi Action Across Multiple Phases

If there’s anything Star War could use right now, it’s something brand new. Sure, we’re sorta getting that with The Mandalorian and the bunch of spinoff shows we’ve recently learned about, but now something truly different is coming, but it won’t be on the TV or big screen…yet.

Lucasfilm has dropped a trailer for Star Wars: The High Republic, a new publishing initiative stretching across books, comics, magazines, etc. The era is hundreds of years before the Skywalker Saga, at the height of the Jedi’s power and influence. So this isn’t a specific comic or novel, but an entire storyline initiative set across three Phases…yes, they’re stealing from Marvel in that regard. Hey, it works, right?

Phase 1, titled Light of the Jedi, lasts through 2022, followed by Phase 2, Quest of the Jedi, and Phase 3, Trials of the Jedi.

While this High Republic phase is meant to be part of the publishing arm, we already know there will be some exploration of that era on the small screen. Leslye Headland’s Disney+ series The Acolyte takes place at the end of the High Republic and explores the emergence of dark side Force powers.  And you just know if all of this catches fire, Lucasfilm will be quick to spin these into TV shows and movies, or incorporate characters into existing programs.

Star Wars: The High Republic kicks off with a few titles this month, and for more information on those you can go here.
