Imagine a crusty old Harrison Ford smacking a dufus Ed Helms in the face while stuck on a shipwrecked boat. It’s almost too perfect and practically writes itself, and we’re going to get to see it in the upcoming shipwreck comedy The Miserable Adventures Of Burt Squire Aboard The Horn High Yo.
Penned by Ben Bolea and based on a true story, Burt Squire stars Helms as a family man who is having a midlife crisis, and takes off on a dream sailing vacation. Unfortunately, he ends up shipwrecked in the Atlantic Ocean alongside an unhinged sea captain played by Ford.
Ford and Helms are basically polar opposites, which is why this movie could be a lot of fun. We imagine in real life that Ford, probably the same way we think of Clint Eastwood, would never be able to stomach Helms who comes across as a complete dork. His characters are always buffoons, but well-meaning buffoons, as in his most recent comedy, Coffee & Kareem. For was last seen in Disney’s Call of the Wild, a solid film that was hurt by the pandemic. [Deadline]
