Sacha Baron Cohen Reportedly Showing Off A Completed Cut Of ‘Borat 2’

Over the last few weeks, Sacha Baron Cohen has been spotted out in the wild shooting scenes as some of his most infamous characters, including Borat. This led to speculation that he was working on something, whether it be movie, some kind of ad, or maybe another TV series. According to Collider, that something might actually be a Borat sequel, and it could be farther along than we knew.

The report goes that Borat 2 is not only in the works, but Cohen has completed filming on it and has shown a rough cut to industry-types.  This would suggest that a studio is already behind it with plans of a release. It also means a director is on board and other talent, which has been kept secret thus far.

The original Borat was a phenomenon when it opened in 2006, making Cohen’s naive, yet unusually perceptive Kazakh journalist a superstar for exposing ordinary people, celebrities, and politicians in embarrassing situations. 20th Century Fox released the film and got a whopping $262M box office out of it. Now that Fox is with Disney, chances are they’re no longer involved with Cohen, but maybe a network like Showtime, which aired Cohen’s series Who is America? in 2018, or Netflix which was involved with his dramatic espionage series, The Spy.

All I can think about is what Borat could expose about America during this hyper-stupid Trump age we’re in. This could be madness and I’m totally here for it.
