Gal Gadot may not be Wonder Woman anymore, but she’s still being forced to play hero in The Runner. Directed by The Last King of Scotland‘s Kevin Macdonald, the psychological thriller follows a successful London attorney whose morning jog is thrown into chaos when her son is kidnapped, and she’s forced to obey cryptic commands by the abductor.
Macdonald, who last directed 2021’s legal drama The Mauritanian, directs from a screenplay by Mark Gibson. Also in the cast are Damian Lewis, Alfred Enoch, and Rory Wilmot.
Gadot was most recently seen in Julian Schnabel’s In the Hand of Dante, which was released on Netflix last month. She also played the Evil Queen in last year’s maligned live-action Snow White.
Amazon MGM Studios will release The Runner to Prime Video on September 2nd.
