Rightfully so, The Furious director Kenji Tanigaki is suddenly in demand as a filmmaker. That’s what happens when you direct the best action movie since The Raid 2, with critical reviews at 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the praise of genre fans everywhere. THR is now reporting that Tanigaki has lined up his next project, The Reckoner, which has some big names attached on both sides of the camera.
According to the report, Peter Dinklage will star in The Reckoner, which Tanigaki will direct for Lionsgate from a script by Derek Kolstad. Kolstad created the John Wick franchise and wrote the first three movies. He also writes similar action flicks such as Nobody, Nobody 2, and Normal.
I can’t imagine a more perfect pairing than Tanigaki and Kolstad. Their sensibilities are so aligned.
Did I mention that Joe and Anthony Russo are on board to produce through their AGBO banner?
No plot details are available yet, but a shoot could happen before the end of the year. Having Dinklage aboard is a big get, and you can bet there will be even bigger names that join him.
