‘Dune: Part Three’ Trailer: Jason Momoa Returns In Finale Of Denis Villeneuve’s Epic Sci-Fi Trilogy

The war for spice is nearing its end! Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the world created by Frank Herbert never interested me until Villeneuve’s adaptations, which have captured the epic scope, cosmic action, and soap opera dramatics that I used to get from Star Wars.

The finale stars Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Zendaya as Chani, Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Isaach de Bankole as Farok, Jason Momoa as a returned Duncan Idaho, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Robert Pattinson as Scytale, and Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica.

Earlier today at a trailer launch event, Villeneuve confirmed that he nearly exited the franchise after Dune: Part Two, something that had been rumored at the time…

“I went to my crew and said, ‘I’m taking a break. That’s it. “Bye-bye,” Villeneuve said. “I went back home, and I kept waking in the middle of the night with those images. I was supposed to do another movie.”

The Dune trilogy is based on Frank Herbert’s 1969 novel and a massive expansion as a sci-fi blockbuster franchise which includes the HBO prequel series, Dune: Prophecy. The two movies thus far, released in 2021 and 2024, have earned a combined $1.2B globally.

Dune: Part 3 hits theaters and IMAX on December 18th.
