1. Toy Story 5 (review)- $160M
Pixar continues to prove there will never be such a thing as “Toy Story fatigue.” Toy Story 5 opened to a franchise high $160M on 4,425 screens, surpassing the $120M debut of Toy Story 4 in 2019. That number is also the best for any film so far in 2026, and think about the films that encompasses. The bar has been set so high for these movies that a 93% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes is actually the lowest of them all. Audiences scored it at 95%, so one would expect it to have a strong hold next week, even in the face of Supergirl as competition. Worldwide, Toy Story 5 has a whopping $312M.
2. Disclosure Day– $17M/$78.2M
As expected, Steven Spielberg’s UFO film Disclosure Day was hit hard, falling 61% for just $17M and $78M domestically overall. Worldwide it’s only earned $160M after two weeks, or the equal to Toy Story 5‘s opening weekend stateside.
3. Obsession– $14.2M/$215.8M
4. Backrooms– $7.3M/$175.1M
5. Scary Movie– $6.7M/$97.5M
6. Masters of the Universe– $5.5M/$56.9M
Amazon/MGM’s Masters of the Universe can at least boast to having crossed the $100M mark worldwide. Still, this one is a bust by any measure.
7. Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu– $3.9M/$171.7M
8. Leviticus (review)- $2.7M
Following a buzzy festival run, NEON released the queer horror Leviticus into 1,076 theaters for just $2.7M. I’m somewhat surprised by this, half expecting it to be the latest in a series of hit indie horrors. At the same time, it didn’t get nearly the same promotional support or widescale release. The film, led by young actors Joe Bird and Stacy Clausen, with Mia Wasikowska the biggest name, has a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, 83% from audiences. So it may do well over the long haul.
9. The Death of Robin Hood (review)- $2.6M
A24’s second film in the top 10, The Death of Robin Hood, missed the mark with just $2.6M. The dark, brooding drama starring Hugh Jackman as the famed outlaw, was hindered by that very approach as audiences didn’t get the version of the character they like. As such, the RT audience score was just 67%, while critics only had it at 69%.
10. Michael– $2.1M/$367.9M
