Nearly 30 years later, and the Owens sisters have the cauldrons smokin’ again. Warner Bros. has conjured up the first trailer for Practical Magic 2, with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock reprising their witchy roles from the 1998 cult classic that fans have been clamoring for a sequel to.
Once again directed by Susanne Bier, the film also brings back Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest. Casting a spell for the first time are Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod.
Set twenty-five years after the first film, the Owens clan continues to be haunted by the family curse, and dark secrets that have begun coming to light. King plays Sally’s daughter, who has begun displaying her own abilities, plunging the family into a generational struggle that forces them to leave Massachusetts for the United Kingdom to finally break the curse once and for all.
The film is written by Akiva Goldsman, Georgia Pritchett, and Kelly Marcel, adapted from Alice Hoffman’s sequel novel The Book of Magic.
Practical Magic 2 hits theaters on September 11th.
