Oh god, is it Super Bowl time again? That means it’s time for every studio to put out Super Bowl TV spots for their biggest upcoming films, giving guys like me more work to do and a reason to watch the big game. The first shot out of the gate is Scream 7, with the brief teaser showcasing the return of Neve Campbell as “Final Girl” Sidney Prescott and, of course, the latest Ghostface killer.
Franchise writer Kevin Williamson takes over as director, his first time behind the camera since Teaching Mrs. Tingle way back in 1996. Joining Campbell are a mix of old favorites and newcomers, including Courteney Cox, Isabel May, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, McKenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons, and Mark Consuelos.
Here’s the synopsis: When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.
Paramount Pictures has a bunch of stuff planned for eager fans. Scream 7 opens on February 27th, but there will be special opening night fan screenings on February 26th. Also, this will be the first movie in the franchise to also be in IMAX, so you can watch Ghostface slaughter folks in the biggest screens possible. Tickets go on sale one week from today.
