I’ve been a fan of The Strangers since Bryan Bertino launched it in 2008. Something about the randomness of the evil, the Manson-esque violence perpetrated for no particular reason, stuck with me. The same was true for Madelaine Petsch, star of Renny Harlin’s ambitious reboot trilogy, which concludes this week with The Strangers: Chapter 3.
Petsch, who Riverdale fans will recognize for her role as Cheryl Blossom, spoke with me about The Strangers: Chapter 3. She plays Maya, who, across three movies, is terrorized and stalked by a trio of masked killers. One of the things Petsch discussed was Maya’s evolution from the first film, which saw her as a victim, to the final movie in which she begins to take matters into her own hands.
Also, Petsch talked about how The Strangers is one of those horrors that stuck with her after she was done shooting, especially while in the shower!
You can check out my interview with Madelaine Petsch below. The Strangers: Chapter 3 is in theaters now.
