‘The Batman Part II’: Sebastian Stan Eyes Harvey Dent/Two-Face Role, Barry Keoghan’s Joker May Return

The Batman Part II just added its second Oscar nominee to the cast. After Scarlett Johansson joined Robert Pattinson in Matt Reeves’ sequel last month, Deadline is reporting that Sebastian Stan is in talks, as well. He becomes the latest Marvel veteran to make the leap to DC Studios.

Scooper Jeff Sneider says Stan is up for the role of Harvey Dent aka Two-Face, and while that’s unconfirmed, it would make sense. Stan notably played a disfigured man to great acclaim in A Different Man. He’s also, of course, best known for playing Bucky Barnes in multiple Marvel movies, most recently in Thunderbolts*, and soon in Avengers: Doomsday. Stan is coming off his Oscar-nominated performance as Donald Trump in The Apprentice.

Dent has been portrayed on the big screen by Billy Dee Williams in Tim Burton’s Batman, Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever, and Aaron Eckhart in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. Harry Lawtey plays a young Dent in Joker: Folie à Deux.

In another interesting note, Variety is saying that Barry Keoghan will also reprise his The Batman role as Joker.

Rumors are that Johansson will play Harvey Dent’s wife, Gilda Gold, which sounds like a small role, but trust me, she’s important. She eventually becomes the villain Holiday, and a key figure in the seminal storyline Batman: The Long Halloween. Sounds like this might be the story that Reeves is adapting, and it would fit with the October 1st 2027 release date.
