‘The Beatles’ First Look: Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn, Barry Keoghan, & Harris Dickinson In Sam Mendes’ Musical Epic

Filming has gotten underway in London on Sam Mendes’ epic The Beatles, and Sony Pictures has revealed our first looks at Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr), Joseph Quinn (George Harrison), and Harris Dickinson (John Lennon).

I’d hardly call myself a Beatles expert, but to me, all of the actors look pretty accurate, with the exception of Joseph Quinn. Something about him doesn’t quite ring very Harrison-esque to me.

Mendes is shooting all four movies consecutively, a monumental feat. They’ll cost around $100M each, reportedly, and will have Dune cinematographer Greig Fraser making them look as beautiful as possible.  Each film will revolve around the same events, but told from different perspectives, Roshomon-style.

Also in The Beatles cast are Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Saoirse Ronan is Linda McCartney, and Aimee Lou Wood as Patti Boyd.

All four movies will be released in April 2028, making this a massive gamble on Sony’s part and a huge undertaking for Mendes and his cast.
