‘Young Sherlock’ Trailer: Hero Fiennes Tiffin Is The Iconic Sleith In Guy Ritchie’s Prime Video Series

Gone are the calm, calculated personality, the smoking pipe, and the deerstalker hat. In its place is a bit of a youthful edge, a dash of recklessness, and an ego the size of England itself. Such is the version of Sherlock Holmes that we’ll be getting in Guy Ritchie’s Prime Video series, Young Sherlock.

Starring as the young Sherlock Holmes is popular actor Hero Fiennes Tiffin of the After film series as well as Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Also in the cast are Dónal Finn as Holmes’ future nemesis James Moriarty, Max Irons as Mycroft Holmes, plus Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, and Colin Firth.

Episodes will be directed by Ritchie, with Matthew Parkhill acting as writer and showrunner.

Even the released synopsis teases similarities with Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes films, so expect a mix of action and humor to go along with the sleuthing.

SYNOPSIS: With all the wit and charm of Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes” feature films, “Young Sherlock” follows the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s beloved detective in an explosive re-imagining of this iconic character’s early days. Sherlock Holmes is a disgraced young man – raw and unfiltered – when he finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty. His first-ever case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever. Unfolding in 1870s Oxford and adventuring abroad, the series will expose the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street’s most renowned resident.
