In news that makes me VERY happy as I prepare to leave for the Zootopia 2 junket in Los Angeles, it’s been learned that WWE superstars CM Punk and Roman Reigns will voice characters in the anticipated Disney sequel. The news comes from Paradigm agent Nick LoPiccolo (via Fightful) who says the duo will play zebra buddy cop partners.
In current WWE lore, Punk and Reigns aren’t exactly best friends. However, they are expected to be on the same team for the upcoming Survivor Series WarGames premium live event later this month.
Reigns has been off TV for weeks shooting his role of Akuma in the new Street Fighter movie. He was also seen earlier this year in Prime Video’s action-comedy The Pickup, and had a role in Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw.
CM Punk had a recurring role on the Starz wrestling drama series Heels, and on Mayans M.C. His most recent film, the upcoming horror Night Patrol, had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest back in September.
Disney will release Zootopia 2 in theaters on November 26th.
