We’ve known for a few months that Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink was cast in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, after all of this time, we still have no idea of her role. One thing we can surmise based on new reporting from Deadline is that it’s going to be a significant MCU role because Sink is expected to return for Avengers: Secret Wars.
According to the report, Sink will be called back into action for Avengers: Secret Wars when the Russo Brothers begin shooting “later in 2026.” The duo have already wrapped filming on Avengers: Doomsday so it’s unlikely she’ll appear there. Then again, it’s feasible that Sink was added in post.
Speculation has been running rampant about Sink’s Marvel role, but it’s going to go through the roof now. Could she be playing Jean Grey of the X-Men? Or perhaps Angelica “Angel” Jones aka Firestar, a character most know from the old Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends cartoon. Or could Sink perhaps be a multiverse variant of Mary Jane Watson or Spider-Girl Mayday Parker?
Sink will be seen first in Destin Daniel Cretton’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31st 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17th 2027.
