‘Die, My Love’ Trailer: Jennifer Lawrence And Robert Pattinson Lead Lynne Ramsay’s Dark Thriller Next Month

Eight years after You Were Never Really Here, director Lynne Ramsay returns with Die, My Love, a dark thriller starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson. A decade ago we’d be talking about this pairing as a teaming of YA heavyweights. But they’ve both long since shed that part of their careers and into more adult territory. Here, they’re exploring the impact of being uprooted from familiar surroundings, to the anxiety of becoming parents, to the stagnation that often comes with marriage.

Directed by Ramsay and co-written with Enda Walsh and Alice Birch, Die, My Love is based on the hit book by Ariana Harwicz. Lawrence and Pattinson play new parents Grace and Jackson, who move from New York City to a rural home in Montana that belonged to his family. There, Grace’s suffering from postpartum depression, combined with the isolation of her new surroundings, causes psychological trauma and a fracturing of their marriage.

There’s so much talent all over this one. Joining Lawrence and Pattinson in the cast are LaKeith Stanfield, Sissy Spacek, and Nick Nolte. And it’s no small thing that legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese is aboard as a producer, showing the amount of faith he has in Ramsay.

SYNOPSIS: The film follows Grace (Lawrence) and her partner Jackson (Pattinson), who have recently moved into an old house deep in the country. With ambitions to write The Great American Novel, Grace settles into her new environment, and the couple welcome a baby soon after. However, with Jackson frequently – and suspiciously – absent, and the pressures of domestic life starting to weigh on her, Grace begins to unravel, leaving a path of destruction in her wake.

MUBI will release Die, My Love in theaters on November 7th.
