Chase Infiniti’s performance in One Battle After Another has been a true breakout, making her one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. It might even land her with a Best Actress Oscar nomination. But for her next role, Infiniti has landed on something much smaller, an indie film titled The Julia Set.
Deadline reports Chase Infiniti will play the title role in The Julia Set, starring alongside Gillian Anderson, Christopher Briney, and Jason Isaacs. The coming-of-age drama will be written and directed by Niki Byrne.
Infiniti plays Julia, “a talented mathematician operating within a fiercely competitive academic environment. Briney plays Pascal, the T.A. who conscripts her into an elite prep course for the most challenging math competition in the world, the Putnam Exam.”
Infiniti first made waves opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in Apple’s hit series, Presumed Innocent, which has earned a second season renewal. Earlier this year, she joined the cast of The Testaments, Hulu’s continuation of The Handmaid’s Tale.
While it might’ve been easier to jump right into another major studio effort, Infiniti’s decision to pick a more low-key project suggests an actor who wants to keep her options open.
