Horror fans are likely very familiar with 1984’s Silent Night, Deadly Night. When it comes to holiday horrors, it’s one of the classics, spawning four sequels and a remake in 2012. Now Cineverse, the distributor behind The Toxic Avenger and Terrifier 3, has a fresh reimagining on the way. But never fear, the killer Santa isn’t going anywhere.
Silent Night, Deadly Night is written and directed by Mike P. Nelson, the director behind horror films Wrong Turn and The Domestics. It stars Rohan Campbell, Ruby Modine, Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson.
Here’s the synopsis, which sticks closely to the original:
A reimagining of the controversial 1984 cult horror classic – When Billy witnesses his parents’ grisly murder on Christmas Eve at the hands of Santa, it ignites a lifelong mission to spread holiday fear. Every Christmas, he dons the jolly red suit and delivers a blood-soaked massacre to feed his twisted sense of justice. This Christmas Eve, Billy wants to know: “Have you been naughty?”
Cineverse will release Silent Night, Deadly Night into theaters on December 12th, just in time for Christmas.
