Take this news with a grain of salt until confirmed officially, but the site Nexus Point News (judge accordingly) says that Mark Ruffalo will return as the Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. And this won’t just be a cameo, but a “major” role for the Jade Giant.
Well, let me be clear, because they say Ruffalo will show up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day as Bruce Banner and it’s unclear if his big, green alter ego will show up. Who wants Banner with no Hulk? Sounds kinda dull if that were the case.
This will be the tenth Hulk appearance in the MCU, which is wild considering he only has one solo movie, 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. The rest have been either Avengers movies or appearances in the projects of other heroes, such as Thor: Ragnarok and She Hulk: Attorney at Law. After years of rumors and fan hopes, it’s strange that Disney continues to let rights issues prevent them from doing a solo Hulk movie.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will see Tom Holland return as Peter Parker, joined by Sadie Sink and Liza Colon-Zayas. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are also expected back. Destin Daniel Cretton will direct, with the film hitting theaters on July 31st 2026.
