‘Remain’: Phoebe Dynevor In Talks For M. Night Shyamalan’s Thriller With Jake Gyllenhaal

M. Night Shyamalan, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Nicholas Sparks; a trio that nobody would’ve expected to be teaming up on a movie. Titled Remain, the supernatural romantic thriller was surprisingly revealed at the start of the year, and soon after Alicia Vikander joined as Gyllenhaal’s co-star. But now she’s dropped out, and according to World of Reel, her replacement has been found.

The site reports that Fair Play and Bridgerton breakout Phoebe Dynevor is in talks to co-star in Remain. She joins a film based on an original story idea by Shyamalan and Sparks, author of The Notebook and other popular romance novels that have become blockbuster adaptations.

Plot details remain under wraps. The film will have cinematography by Adolpho Veloso, DP of Clint Bentley’s poetic dramas Jockey and Train Dreams. So you know it’s going to be beautifully shot and suggests a more elegant film than we typically see from Shyamalan.

Dynevor was last seen in Neil Burger’s espionage film Inheritance, and has Tommy Wirkola’s Beneath the Storm coming up.

Remain is expected to shoot this summer.
