‘Eden’ Trailer: Ron Howard’s Survival Thriller Stars Jude Law, Ana De Armas, Sydney Sweeney, & Vanessa Kirby

The Galapagos Affair, a series of unsolved disappearances and deaths on the remote island of Floreana in the 1930, remains a perplexing mystery and a favorite for true crime enthusiasts. It was documented in an excellent 2013 documentary (featuring the voices of Cate Blanchett, Diane Kruger, and more) that only stirred up more questions about the European expats who were among the first to populate the isle of Floreana. Ron Howard’s new survival thriller Eden will spread the story even further with a gorgeous cast led by Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby, Sydney Sweeney, and Daniel Brühl.

Directed by Howard from a Noah Pink script, Eden follows a group of German and Austrian expats who flee to the remote island of Floreana seeking solitude and new lives, only to find an arduous ordeal, unruly neighbors, and more that leads to tragedy.

De Armas plays real-life Baroness von Wagner-Bousquet, with Sweeney as Margret Wittmer.

The film debuted to mixed reviews at TIFF last year. While it has yet to gain domestic distribution, an international trailer has found its way online.

SYNOPSIS: “‘Eden’ follows a group of people fueled by a profound desire for change; in order to turn their back to society they leave everything behind and set their futures on the harsh landscape of the Galapagos.”

We’ll update you when Eden lands a U.S. distributor and release date. Surely with a cast like this the wait can’t be much longer.
