‘Andor’ Season 2 Teaser: The Revolution Is On As Disney’s ‘Star Wars’ Political Thriller Comes To An End

Other than The Mandalorian, no other Star Wars series on Disney+ has received the popular and critical acclaim as Andor. Funny, since it probably had the lowest expectations going in. More of a political/espionage thriller than about lightsabers and blaster rifles, the Emmy-nominated show was a hit that expanded our knowledge of the galaxy and events leading up to Rogue One. Now, with the second and final season right around the corner, a new teaser and poster have been released.

Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor for the last time, the Rebel Alliance’s espionage expert as the drumbeat to war with the Empire bangs on. The series takes place years ahead of the events in Rogue One, as Cassian evolves from a disinterested scavenger to a key member of the Rebel Army, willing to sacrifice his life for the cause. Of course, we know how his story ends, but it’s exciting to see how he gets to that fateful moment.

This season of Andor consists of 12 episodes, broken down into 4 chapters of 3 episodes each. Tony Gilroy, Beau Willimon, Dan Gilroy, and Tom Bissell each wrote a block of episodes, directed by Ariel Kleiman (Eps. 1-6), Janus Metz (Eps. 7-9) and Alonso Ruizpalacios (Eps. 10-12).

Joining Luna in the cast are Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Elizabeth Dulau, Alan Tudyk, with Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker.

Andor season 2 hits Disney+ on April 22nd.
