‘Behemoth!’ Teaser: Pedro Pascal Stars As A Gifted Cellist In Tony Gilroy’s Music Drama Arriving In December

While yesterday’s Digger trailer has a lot of folks eyeing it as a likely awards frontrunner, now is a good time to add Tony Gilroy’s Behemoth! to the conversation. Pedro Pascal stars in the film as a gifted cellist who returns home to Los Angeles after 20 years on the road.

Pascal’s character, Alex, re-enters the world of composing film scores, with each project triggering flashbacks to the reason he left Los Angeles in the first place. The cast includes Sorry, Baby breakout Eva Victor, Olivia Wilde, Will Arnett, Hank Azaria, Matthew Lillard, Margarita Levieva, JoBeth Williams, and Alexa Swinton.

This is Gilroy’s first feature film since 2012’s The Bourne Legacy. However, he’s earned critical acclaim over the years for his Star Wars series, Andor, on Disney+.

Obviously, the music is crucial to creating the unique space that Alex occupies, and Gilroy employs a total of nine composers in the film, including Henry Jackman, Alan Silvestri, Emily Bear, and Michael Giacchino.

SYNOPSIS: A gifted cellist, Alex Serian (Pedro Pascal), returns home to Los Angeles after 20 years on the road. Music, which has been the constant, all-consuming river of his life, begins to carry Alex on an adventure that will change him forever.

Searchlight Pictures will release Behemoth! in theaters on December 4th.
