You know what audiences love? Grumpy old men. Not just in the movie Grumpy Old Men, but also in movies like Gran Torino, and Taken, when things have the potential to get violent. It’s Oscar winner Christoph Waltz’s turn to shout “Get off my lawn” at the youngsters in Simon West’s new action-comedy, appropriately titled Old Guy.
As seen in the new trailer for Old Guy, Waltz plays Danny Dolinski, an aging hitman forced to train a young upstart, played by Saturday Night’s Cooper Hoffman. When they learn they’re being betrayed, it’s up to the unlikely partners to turn the tables on their disloyal bosses.
Also in the cast are Lucy Liu, Ryan McParland, Ann Akinjirin, Jason Done, Tony Hirst, Kate Katzman, Conor Mullen, and Rory Mullen.
West is a veteran of the action genre with some impressive credits including Con Air, Tomb Raider, and The Mechanic. He last directed the Chinese disaster flick Skyfire, and has the Rebel Wilson comedy Bride Hard coming up.
The Avenue will release Old Guy in theaters and digital on February 21st 2025.
