‘Chad Powers’ Teaser: Glen Powell Hits The Gridiron In Hulu’s Football Comedy Series

Glen Powell had one Hell of a 2024, and he’s looking to take the hot streak into 2025 with a new comedy series of his own creation. Chad Powers is a football comedy that he co-created with Michael Waldron (Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), based on Eli Manning’s character created for the most-watched episode of his Eli’s Places show.

So it makes sense that Eli Manning is an exec-producer along with his brother Peyton Manning through his Omaha Productions banner. Powell is a co-creator, co-writer, and exec-producer, while also starring in the title role.

Here’s the synopsis: “When bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s (Powell) college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.”

Joining Powell in the cast are Toby Huss, Steve Zahn, Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, and Clayne Crawford.

This just looks like a bit of fun, honestly. The show’s origin as an ESPN sketch isn’t that much different than Ted Lasso, and look how that turned out. Clearly, that’s what Hulu is hoping for here.

Chad Powers is expected to hit Hulu in Fall 2025, so there’s still quite a wait.
