‘Wife & Dog’: Guy Ritchie’s Next Film To Star Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike, And Anthony Hopkins

When does Guy Ritchie sleep, anyway? Ritchie has been on a tear, with four big studio films in the last three years and plenty more on the way. And before they even hit screens Ritchie is already lining up an all-star cast for a new film, titled Wife & Dog.

Black Bear has announced that Ritchie’s new film Wife & Dog will star Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike, and Sir Anthony Hopkins. While plot details are slim at this point, the film is said to explore “the colourful, back-stabbing world of the British aristocracy.” It’s territory Ritchie covered so well in 2019’s The Gentlemen and its spinoff TV series.  The film is written and directed by Ritchie.

Ritchie’s motor keeps going non-stop. As previously mentioned, he’s directed The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, The Covenant, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, and Wrath of Man in the last three years. He was pretty busy before that, too. Coming up he has action film In the Grey and adventure Fountain of Youth.

Cumberbatch was most recently seen in Netflix’s thriller series Eric, while also making appearances in films including The Book of Clarence and The End We Start From. Pike was last seen in Saltburn and has Ritchie’s In the Grey coming up. Hopkins is one of the all-time greats and continues to keep busy. He starred in the first season of Peacock series Those About to Die, and Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon.

Filming on Wife & Dog begins in February.
