Halloween is only a week in the past, and that can only mean one thing: Christmas movies! Yeah, I’m not ready for this crap either. You’ve probably already seen multiple trailers for upcoming holiday flicks, such as Red One, and now you can add another. The Farrelly Brothers are reunited for Dear Santa, a Christmas comedy that features Jack Black as….Satan.
No, that’s not a misspelling even though a misspelling is key to the plot. When a young boy makes a crucial spelling error in his letter to Santa it ends up going south and right into Satan’s clutches. Of course, he decides this is a great opportunity to corrupt an innocent kid and destroy Christmas.
The film is directed by Bobby Farrelly, who his second solo effort after last year’s Champions. He’s working from a script by his brother Peter Farrelly and Ricky Blitt. It’s a reunion of the Farrellys and Black, who worked together on Shallow Hal in 2001.
Also in the cast are Robert Timothy Smith, Keegan-Michael Key, Brianne Howey, Hayes MacArthur, Post Malone, P.J. Byrne, Jaden Carson Baker, and Kai Cech.
SYNOPSIS: When a young boy mails his Christmas wish list to Santa with one crucial spelling error, a devilish Jack Black arrives to wreak havoc on the holidays. From the hilarious minds behind Dumb & Dumber, Christmas is about to go up in flames.
