‘Lone Wolf’: Lily Gladstone And Bryan Cranston To Lead Action-Thriller From ‘Arlington Road’ Director

A pair of recent Oscar nominees are teaming up for a new conspiracy thriller. Deadline reports Bryan Cranston and Lily Gladstone will star in Lone Wolf, the latest film from Arlington Road director Mark Pellington.

Lone Wolf is based on an original script by Tom Chilcoat. The film “will follow a troubled vet (Gladstone) struggling with addiction who is recruited by a contractor (Cranston) for a covert government plot to assassinate a high-level politician. After learning she’s set to take the fall, she must utilize all of her skills to outwit the shadow agents to protect the future of her son.”

This is something new for Gladstone, whose performances in Killers of the Flower Moon, Fancy Dance, and The Unknown Country all received critical acclaim last year. She earned an Emmy nomination for Under the Bridge, as well. Cranston, who received his Best Actor nomination for Trumbo, recently joined the cast of Barry Levinson’s JFK conspiracy thriller, Assassination. His last starred in Guy Ritchie’s Argylle, and returned to voice Li in Kung Fu Panda 4.

This is familiar ground for Pellington, who directed the political conspiracy thriller Arlington Road, which centered on a terrorist plot. He most recently directed Nostalgia in 2018 and has dozens of music videos to his credit.
