New ‘Megalopolis’ Trailer Seeks To Stimulate Your Third Eye Chakra Or Whatever That Means

Francis Ford Coppola’s longtime passion project, Megalopolis, might be an epic disaster.  It might be the greatest movie ever. It’s really hard to tell at this point the response has been so divisive. Personally, I think it looks…um, challenging. But even if the film turns out to be a fail, at least the marketing has been interesting! Either they’re dropping trailers with fake AI-generated critic quotes, or they’re scored with music pitched at a frequency to expand our spiritual awareness and “stimulate the Third Eye Chakra.”

Seriously, that’s what happening here. The latest trailer is scored by Mimi Xu and MAGUIRE of the duo Awkward Moments, and its pitched at the 852 Hz frequency to “stimulate the Third Eye Chakra, helping open and balance this energy center. This can lead to heightened intuition and deeper insight into one’s life and surroundings.”

There’s more: “Some use affirmations while listening to this frequency, focusing on statements that reinforce inner wisdom, trust, and spiritual growth… it’s a powerful tool for those seeking to expand their spiritual awareness and tap into higher levels of consciousness.”

Is this Coppola’s way of saying that if we think Megalopolis sucks it’s because we didn’t reach the higher plane of existence? Are we supposed to smoke down before watching this movie, or what?

Megalopolis opens September 27th, and it’s Coppola’s Roman epic set in an imagined America where one man seeks the creation of a Utopia. The film is led by Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, and Nathalie Emmanuel, but the ensemble is gigantic.

SYNOPSIS: Megalopolis is a Roman Epic set in an imagined Modern America. The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina (Adam Driver), a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), the mayor’s daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.
