‘Onslaught’: Adria Arjona Joins “Gonzo” Action Movie From ‘Godzilla x Kong’ Director Adam Wingard

It’s been an incredible year for Adria Arjona, arguably the busiest of her career. Not only was she fantastic opposite Glen Powell in Hit Man, she followed that with Zoe Kravitz’s Blink Twice, and by landing a role opposite Dakota Johnson in Splitsville. Arjona remains highly sought after, and THR reports she has just landed a key part in Onslaught, the upcoming action film from Adam Wingard.

Onslaught is Wingard’s follow-up to Godzilla x Kong and its recent sequel Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and the reason he exited the MonsterVerse franchise. Arjona is set to play “a mother who falls back on a particular set of skills in order to protect her loved ones after she runs afoul of a threat that has escaped a secret military base.”

Plot details remain under wraps, but the film is being described as a “gonzo action horror thriller”.  Wingard reunites with screenwriter Simon Barrett, who he worked with on You’re Next and The Guest.

This sounds like the potential launch of a new franchise for Wingard, and if true, Arjona would bring a lot of experience to the table. She’s also had roles in Marvel/Sony’s Morbius, as well as the Star Wars: Andor series on Disney+.

With filming to begin later this year, Onslaught should arrive sometime in 2025.
