‘Y2K’ Trailer: Rachel Zegler Zegler Faces A ’90s Techno-Apocalypse In Kyle Mooney’s Disaster Comedy

Some of you are too young to remember this, but there was a time when many people thought Y2K would descend the world into technological chaos. Well, it turns out none of that happened. We’re all still here. AI didn’t turn on us and wipe out humanity. But what if all of the predictions had come true? That’s the basis of Kyle Mooney’s comedy, Y2K, and it’s just dropped a hilarious trailer.

Y2K stars Jaeden Martell and Julian Dennison, along with West Side Story and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes star Rachel Zegler. The story centers on two high school buddies who crash an ill-fated party on the final night of 1999 when everything goes haywire.

Mooney, an SNL alum recently seen in Unfrosted and No Hard Feelings, has really tapped into the nostalgia and paranoia of the time. Co-stars in the film include Clueless star Alicia Silverstone, Stranger Things actor Eduardo Franco, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina‘s Lachlan Watson, plus Fred Durst, Daniel Zolghadri, Scream‘s Mason Gooding, Tim Heidecker, and The Kid Laroi.

Martell is best known for his roles in Midnight Special and Knives Out, while Dennison starred in Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Deadpool 2.

A24 will release Y2K into theaters on December 6th.

SYNOPSIS: On the last night of 1999, two high school juniors crash a New Year’s Eve party, only to find themselves fighting for their lives in this dial-up disaster comedy.
