‘Duchess’ Trailer: Neil Marshall’s Revenge Thriller With Charlotte Kirk Arrives In August

Neil Marshall doesn’t sit idle for long. He’s already completed three movies since the poorly-received Hellboy (with David Harbour) in 2019. His latest, the action flick Duchess, arrives digitally and VOD on August 9th, and the first trailer featuring Marshall’s wife and creative partner Charlotte Kirk has arrived.

As seen in the trailer, Kirk stars as Duchess, a small-time crook, who “tries to enter the treacherous underworld of diamond trafficking and ends up left for dead when a deal goes wrong. Determined to seek retribution, she launches into an unwavering pursuit for vengeance.”

Kirk is joined in the cast by Philip Winchester, Colm Meaney, Hoji Fortuna, Colin Egglesfield, Stephanie Beachum and Sean Pertwee.

The film was directed by Marshall, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Kirk, so this is a project designed with her in mind. Kirk also starred and co-wrote in Marshall’s films The Lair and The Reckoning. Marshall is best known for his films Dog Soldiers and The Descent, both considered horror classics to this day.

Coming up for Marshall is the erotic thriller Compulsion, which will also star Kirk. While Marshall has been hit-or-miss, when he’s on he tends to hit home runs. Duchess looks like a blast, or as Marshall says in a press statement, a “wild ride.”  Count me in.
