‘Creature Commandos’ Teaser: James Gunn’s Monster Misfits Kick Off The New DCU This December

While James Gunn’s Superman has hogged much of the attention, it’s not really where his new DCU will launch. That would be the animated series Creature Commandos, which not only features characters from his movie The Suicide Squad, but as seen in the new teaser it also shares the same irreverent, offbeat tone and humor.

The voice cast is led by Steve Agee as Economos, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana, Anya Chalotra as Circe, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sean Gunn as GI Robot & Weasel, David Harbour as Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, Indira Varma as The Bride, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. So yeah, a lot of crossover characters from Gunn’s The Suicide Squad and his Peacemaker series, which makes sense considering he’s leading the creative side of things.

Here’s the synopsis:

CREATURE COMMANDOS tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails…they’re your last, worst option.

It was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that Creature Commandos will hit MAX this December.
